Hey, bud!
I put up a trail cam on the property I bought this summer. It snaps a photo if something comes into view and sends me a text. It’s a moment of joy every time my phone pings.
I’ve seen bucks and does, fawns, elk, skunk, and the back half of a moose. I also caught a pair of dogs running through the woods. I keep waiting for a bear to amble through.
The dark spot in the center of the image is a natural spring. It was just a trickle, but it’s fresh water coming up out of the ground, so when it’s hot and dry, the animals know it’s there.
I seem not have set up the solar panel incorrectly, because I’d have hoped the camera would charge most days and the battery would be a lot closer to 100% than near empty. But I guess it’ll die in another few weeks and will wait out the Winter until I get back to fix it.
